Dr. Gregory Nielsen
Dr. Nielsen brings a wealth of experience, compassion, and a genuine commitment to patient-centered care. Originally from Northern Virginia, Dr. Nielsen spent many summers with extended family in Marshfield, Massachusetts, which helped shape his deep appreciation for the New England community he now calls home.
He earned his BA in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish from the University of Virginia, and went on to graduate summa cum laude from Boston University School of Dental Medicine. During his time there, he was honored with election to the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.
Dr. Nielsen completed a two-year General Practice Residency at the University of Virginia Hospital, receiving advanced training across a range of dental specialties, including oral surgery, sleep dentistry, endodontics, orthodontics, and periodontics. A particularly meaningful part of his residency involved collaborative work with the head and neck cancer division, where he helped prepare patients undergoing radiation therapy—an experience that deepened his understanding of the intersection between dental and medical care.
Following his residency, Dr. Nielsen returned to the Boston area, where he has been serving patients in private practice. He is known for his thoughtful approach to dentistry, taking time to understand each patient’s goals and expectations in order to provide truly personalized treatment.
Outside of the office, Dr. Nielsen lives in South Boston and enjoys golf, basketball, and bike riding. He’s also a passionate science fiction reader—feel free to share your favorite book recommendations with him! While he remains a loyal Virginia sports fan at heart, he admits he’s slowly becoming a Boston sports convert.
